WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE LIBRARY?

Movie Matinee on Wed, May 16th will feature "The Station Agent".  Three people with nothing in common find there is nothing like a train station to bring them together.  This is a charming and feel-good movie starring Patricia Clarkson, Peter Dinklage and Bobby Cannavale.  The movie starts at 1:00pm

Northern Door Library Display Case will display a collection of rosemaling passed down to Henry Timm from his mother.  The rosemaling will be on display the month of May.

Children's Story Time meets every Wednesday at 10:30am at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library.  This program is designed for pre-school and primary grades until the summer programs begin.  For other children and family events this summer go to www.dcl.lib.wi.us and click on the event.

VFW Post 8337 in cooperation with the Titan's motorcycle club is planning a Fall Color Ride, the proceeds to go to their community outreach programs which include education scholarships to local students.  The tenative date for the ride will be September 29th.  This ride is open to the public.  Watch for posters.  For more information contact Carl T. Readers Rampant Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the library community room.  Everyone is welcome to join the discussion.  May 8th they will discuss "Caramelo" by Sandra Cisneros.  It is a multi-generational story of a Mexican-American family renowned for their shawl-making.  Lala Reyes comes into possession of the most beautiful shawl of all, the "caramelo rebozo" along with the family history it represents.  Future book discussions will be "Memory Keepers Daughter" by Kim Edwards on June 12th and "Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls on July 10th.
