QUESTIONS FROM FIRST INFORMATIONAL SESSION
• What was Mike Walker’s report on price per waterfront foot?
Mike Walker did not appraise the properties. He looked at comparable sales and based his report to the Board on those sales. His value per shore front foot was $2,900/ft and his value for interior property was $10,000/acre. Dan Mortier also did an analysis of shore property. His value per front foot on the shore averaged $3,654/ft.
• How much shorefront property does the town already have?
Of the 237,600 feet of shoreline surrounding Liberty Grove 2,530 feet is Town property. 2,530 feet is just under ˝ mile. The County and State own approximately 3 miles of bluff/shoreline property. That leaves 41 ˝ miles of shore property owned by private individuals and not available to the public. There is 260 feet of Town land that is bluff, which provides limited water access.
