Minutes from Meeting of February 8, 2010

Chairman Goss called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM. Also attending: Commissioners Nelson, Karkau, Sauer, Miller, R. Forkert and Clerk/Administrator Kalms. Shumway did not attend. Frank Forkert also attended.
Nelson/Miller to adopt the agenda as published. Carried 6-0.
Nelson/Sauer to approve the 1/25 minutes as corrected. Carried 5-0-1, Forkert abstaining.
Town Comprehensive Plan Review: General Plan Design (GPD) Map. Consensus was to leave the area north of and adjacent to highway 42 at Northport in the red (general commercial) color. Kalms has been investigating a certified survey ordinance and mentioned the possibility of a scaled down land division ordinance (LDO) to address all land divisions. Discussion followed on the need for a LDO in light of the zoning changes that were done a few years ago. Kalms will see if County Planning can do a map showing differences between the lower density GPD and the zoning classifications with higher density, which will show what area may be remaining in the Town with conflicting density.
GPD map from Waters End road south. Consensus was to leave the GPD map south of Waters End road as is and not recommend any changes.
Correspondence. Among the correspondence was a letter suggesting implementation of a solar wind farm on the former land spreading property on highway 42 across from Old Stage Road.
Next meeting will be 2/22, to include review of a land division ordinance draft and maps of conflicting density, and chapter 9, “Implementation”, of the Town Plan.
Miller/Nelson to adjourn. Carried 6-0. 7:49 PM.
